Anna Sui for Target- now with pics!

annasui_target

These pictures have me really excited about the new Anna Suit x Target Designer Collaboration. Unlike the McQueen collection, which was designed specifically for Target, Sui’s collection is a modified version of her runway pieces. So if you’ve been eyeing some of her dresses, they can finally be yours! I think they’ve done a really good job of redesigning the silhouettes to make them less pricey without looking cheap, but the proof is in the pudding. They will be out in September….. just a little while longer.

AIW

I am so extremely excited about Tim Burton’s take on the Alice in Wonderland story. How amazing does Anne Hathaway look as the White Queen? And after staring a long time at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, thinking “who does he remind me of?” It dawned on me- ELIJAH WOOD- how unfortch. It’s set to open March 5th 2010.

dexterflats

Sometimes you just wanna go out an buy yourself something, recession be damned! Payless comes through with this cute bow flat for only $24.99. I’m all for mixing high and low, but there is definitely a fine line between CHEAP & CHEERFUL and just plain cheap. This flat is safely on the right side of the equation.

  4. F21 does such a great job of look-a-like jewelry, these bow and sparkle pendants scream Betsey Johnson. $4.80
  5. Once again, they tear a page from BJ’s book, these cute heart & rose earrings are irresistible for $4.80

Jeremy Scott for Adidas

Jeremy Scott for Adidas

I missed the boat on this collaboration the first time around, but I plan to redeem myself this fall when Jeremy Scott revisits the partnership for another round of truly inspired and whimsical sports wear. The urban sportswear market is saturated with “designer collaborations” to the point where it’s turned to noise; it’s refreshing to see someone take it to the next level and make it really exciting. This dress is my favorite piece, but the giraffe sweater has caught my eye too.

The Uniform Project

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Sometimes I wish I could adopt a uniform, wear the same thing everyday and still be fashionable. Turns out one girl has taken on this task, it’s called the The Uniform Project where one girl vowed  to wear one dress for one year. She is also collecting donations to benefit the Akanksha Foundation, which helps slum children in India afford education.
