Retail Roundup: Coach

coach handbags

Once the domain of hood rats and people who actually shop for fashion accessories inside Disney parks, Coach has been making a respectable come back over the last several seasons. Though they’d fare better to leave the cartoony hip-hop sneakers and colorful urban prints to Louis Vuitton and Fendi, their return to their classic equestrian logo and overall “Weekend in Nantucket” styling is a welcome turn for the better. Part of what they’ve done is return to classic, clean styling and appeal to a younger audience, taking a few pages from Tod’s and Marc Jacobs’ books. I can’t recall ever wanting anything by Coach before so my hats off to them!

Clockwise from the top:

  1. Felt Beret $148.00
  2. Great American Tattersall Trench $798.00
  3. Poppy Three Strand Flower Necklace $198.00
  4. New Fayth Boot  $358.00
  5. Bonnie Large Tote $358.00
  6. Skyla Flat $158.00
  7. Madison Julianne Tote $458.00
  8. Sailor Stripe Sweater $198.00

serenightmare

Tried to find a better example of this on the web somewhere but the web version of this campaign doesn’t look the same. I love the type setting and the fact that the letters look like vinyl stickers peeling up at the edges. Brilliant, never mind the frightening illustration of Serena Williams.

The new issue of Teen Vogue hit my doorstep and amongst the $300 dollar handbags and $100 dollar candles that the magazine usually peddles to its teen readership I found some noteworthy gems.

COACH shoes TEEN VOGUE flats bows

First up are the ADORABLE, nay, murderous flats from Coach. Just as I was about to thrown down $500 dollars on a pair of Chanel flats, these puppies came along and for a mere $158.00 I think they are a steal. You can buy the Skyla flat on the Coach site.

nine west cheetah sandalWhen I saw these neon yellow “jelly” sandals, they jumped off the page and smacked me in the face as if to say, “Yea? You like that? I got some more where that came from.” And I did want more, however Teen Vogue credited Nine West for this sandal, but none of my thorough internet hunting has unearthed a link to these beauties.  I think they’ll have to print the retraction in the next issue and tell us WHO REALLY DID THESE, and I will continue my tireless search for them. If you know please contact me. I want to give credit where credit is due, and I kinda need these.

But dear readers, there’s a saying that goes something like, “You can’t appreciate the sweet without the sour.” In that spirit I give you TUBE FLOPS. Flip flops with tube socks attached. Sanuk is even hosting a contest to win a pair- don’t all text at once. So here’s your sour and you’re welcome.

retail-roundup_lulus

Lulus.com is home to more affordable dresses than you can shake a stick at, which mostly retail for about $40. Did you love that dress at Anthropologie for $250? Hold on to your wallet, scan Lulu’s and they will probably have a look-a-like for a lot less. The quality is comparable to the nicer F21 items. They also have some really adorable accessories as well.

  1. This dress is called “Miss Pettigrew”, need I say more? $39.00
  2. Though summer is on it’s last legs, there must be room for Little Sparkler in your closet? $34.00
  3. Love this number, Jailbreak Rose will easily transition into fall with a cropped cardigan and tights. $34.00
  4. (Not Pictured) This Totally Buggin necklace is so cute, I’d eat it. $16.00
