Hair Hair Everywhere

Hair-do’s are a bit of an obsession of mine. Whether it’s perfecting my pin-curls, re-creating Chanel’s runway up-do’s or getting that perfect summer braid down, I’m always on the lookout for a good tutorial and new ideas. Daily Candy has been a GREAT resource of late, with a fantastic tutorial on how to do the ‘around the world’ braid so many cute, sunny So-Cal blondes have been sporting recently. See it here. Daily Candy also has a great tutorial on the perfect messy side bun here.

And I will definitely be trying their beachy curls tutorial on my trip to Mexico, Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray is perfect for this look.

Refinery 29 also has a great feature on Fall’s hair trends, and I would love to see a video tutorial of that Dior look! See more at Refinery 29.

BABY YOURSELF FOR A CHANGE

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

It seems that everyone I know is either having a baby or just had one, and they all share one thing in common. They barely have a moment to pamper themselves because their little bundles take up all of their time. This is what makes MD Moms Baby Silk line so awesome, it lets your provide the highest quality products for your little one and moms can use them to pamper themselves too.

Throw the gentle all over clean wipes into your purse to clean up messes from head to toe, or slather yourself in the ultra hydrating and amazing smelling baby silk daily skin protection lotion. My favorite product is the baby silk delicate skin comfort, which goes on as a lotion and dries to a silky powder; good for baby’s bottom and it doubles as a perfect solution to smooth on your feet when you’re wearing ballet flats for an all day dry comfort!

You can view the whole range which also includes sunscreen wipes and a hair and body wash at MDMOMS.com

Manicure-a-holic

manicure_moon-manicure_reverse-french_nail-foilThe first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem- I’m addicted to nail art. It started innocently enough with $5.00 airbrushing at the local manicure shop, it has since escalated to gel manicures, Minx manicures and my next venture- a full on Calgel manicure complete with rhinestones, bows and glitter.

I own an arsenal of nail art and manicure accoutrements, every color polish, lace appliques, real flowers, every cuticle treatment west of the Missippi and about 6 pairs of cuticle nippers which I get professionally sharpened. I know- it’s sick, but I don’t want to be better! And by the looks of this awesome article in Instyle about DIY fancy manicures, my illness is socially acceptable! Gotta run, gonna go buy some nail foil and get to work!
